Teaching of the Visually Impaired:

ClairviewSchool has a teacher of the visually impaired on staff, Michele Jones. Mrs. Jones works with students using the following materials:

  1. Braille materials
  2. Braille writers
  3. Braille books
  4. Low vision aids such as light boxes, light up toys, tactile materials to encourage hands on interactions
  5. Visual scanning materials

Educational background:

Masters of Education specializing in teaching visually impaired students

Visually Impaired support/orientation and mobility specialist

Bachelor's degree in psychology and elementary education

Certification in orientation and mobility
