      Information Technology Services consists of highly skilled professionals that provide school districts with a comprehensive approach to technology. This team can provide consultation, implementation, and support services on a wide variety of educational or vocational technologies. 

    Internet Services
    This service provides school districts and career and technology centers with connection to the Internet through the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit's node.  The Westmoreland Intermediate Unit Technology Services provides support and training for Internet use.

    Networking:
    The Westmoreland Intermediate Unit can provide networking solutions for the following:

    • Windows XP
    • Windows 2003
    • Windows 2008

    Consultation and Implementation
     
    After a comprehensive review of your district's current technology, we help plan for and use microcomputers and other information systems more efficiently. The team can effectively develop a suitable plan that matches your school district's short and long-range goals. Comprehensive solutions include:
     

    • Custom network and internetworking design
    • Installation and support of hardware and software
    • Wiring/Rewiring your building
    • Training your staff to use computers more productively

    Technicial Support
    The Westmoreland Intermediate Unit provides hardware and software support for your staff by phone or by on-site visit. Support is provided for the following networks and management software:
     

    • Windows 2000, Windows XP 
    • Mini and mainframe computer connectivity
    • Internet Access
    • Macintosh/Apple computers and peripherals

    Expertise
    The Information Technology Service team has many years of experience and the expertise to give our clients comprehensive and specific services. Areas of specialty include the items listed above as well as:
     

    • Consultation in the purchase of equipment from PEPPM
    • Writing bids and working with outside vendors
    • Training on the use and efficient operation of networks
    • Troubleshooting/repair of new or existing networks
    • Upgrading or reconfiguring existing networks

    Pricing
    The Westmoreland Intermediate Unit's staff time for any of these services is reasonably priced.
    Non-Network services available at $35.00 per hour. Network services available at $65.00 to $100 per hour depending upon services needed.
