• WIU JOINT PURCHASING CONSORTIUM
     
      
    The Westmoreland Intermediate Unit Joint Purchasing Consortium provides an opportunity for the public schools in Westmoreland County to secure better pricing on purchases through aggregated quantities. The Consortium is directed by a board comprised of a representative from each participating school entity, which includes school districts, career & technology centers (CTCs), and the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit (WIU). The WIU Joint Purchasing Coordinator facilitates the bidding.

    Presently, the WIU Joint Purchasing (JP) program bids for multi-purpose paper as well as diesel fuel and gasoline.

    PAPER BIDS
     
    On March 17, 2016, the WIU Joint Purchasing Consortium awarded its bid for Multi-Purpose Paper for the current school year to W.B. Mason.  The bid tabulation can be found on the following link: JP Paper Bid  
     
    FUEL BIDS 
     
    The Westmoreland Intermediate Unit Joint Purchasing Consortium met on March 29, 2017, and awarded the 2017-2018 bid to the apparent low responsible bidder for diesel fuel to Petroleum Traders Corporation at a bid price of $1.7045 per gallon for the 1,121,300 gallons of diesel fuel; and awarded the bid to the apparent low responsible bidder for gasoline to Petroleum Traders Corporation at a bid price of $1.6332 per gallon for the 151,000 gallons of gasoline intended to be purchased by the 12 participating school districts.  The bid tabulation can be found on the following link: JP Fuel Bid.
